Pabbi Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abdulmanap, féll frá í morgun. Abdulmanap var 57 ára gamall og mikilvægur hlekkur í teymi Khabib.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov var í dái í nokkrar vikur á sjúkrahúsi í Moskvu. Abdulmanap greindist með kórónavírusinn og fékk hjartaáfall í kjölfarið. Abdulmanap fékk einnig heilablóðfall og tókst læknum að bjarga hjartanu en ekki heilanum. Abdulmanap vaknaði ekki úr dáinu eftir heilablóðfallið og lést hann í morgun.
Abdulmanap var mjög virtur þjálfari í sambó, júdó, ólympískri glímu og MMA. Hann hefur alla tíð tekið virkan þátt í undirbúningi Khabib fyrir bardaga hans í UFC en gat aðeins einu sinni verið í horninu hans í UFC vegna vandræða með að fá vegabréfsáritun í Bandaríkjunum. Abdulmanap var í horninu hans í síðasta bardaga Khabib gegn Dustin Poirier í september.
Abdulmanap lagði til leikáætlun fyrir alla bardaga Khabib ásamt þjálfurum Khabib hjá AKA í Bandaríkjunum. Abdulmanap var mjög virtur í MMA samfélaginu og hafði mikil áhrif á MMA í Rússlandi.

In my last fight in Russia the crowd started attacking the cage after I won,it was turning into a scary situation,my safety seemed in genuine danger.
Abdulmanap came into the cage & settled things very quickly.
He seemed like a great man.

I spent some time around Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov in the lead up to #UFC242 and the respect he was shown by fighters and coaches was something I have rarely, if ever, seen before. At the open workouts, it was almost like he was the star of the show, not Khabib. A huge loss.

Sad to wake up to see the news about Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Javier Mendez once told me that, even in his late 50s, he was one of the few guys at AKA who still liked to get out on the mat and wrestle with Daniel Cormier. "I won't even wrestle with DC!" Javier said. Condolences.
