TUF alumni, Saul Rogers, spent a week training in Iceland at Mjölnir MMA. We talked to him about training with Gunnar Nelson, his future UFC opportunities and his mentality going into fights.
“I always think that my wrestling is good and then I come here and train with Gunni and the guys and I just think I’m not as good as I thought I was,” Rogers said with a laugh about training with Gunnar Nelson and the Competition Team at Mjölnir.
Saul Rogers was supposed to fight at the TUF 22 Finale in December but was replaced by Ryan Hall due to Visa issues. Rogers is optimistic he will be able to sort the issues out and fight in the UFC.
“Well I was down at UFC London cornering one of my teammates, Davy Grant. Had a chance to speak with few of the guys there, and basicly it’s just a Visa issue. As soon as I get that sorted, I got a few guys trying to work on my Visa, so I can get an access to the US, as soon as that’s sorted they said they would be more then happy to have me back. So yeah I’m optimistic, I think I’ll be back there, I think I deserve to be there, who knows what the future holds.”
